It has been a super busy week here! No posts in a week - wow!
Well here is the next installment in mancave Monday :)
The first thing we had done was to have a waterproofing system installed. The men came and jackhammered around 8 inches of concrete away from the perimeter of the basement on the inside.
Then, they drilled holes at the base of the wall to allow water to come in if it builds up around the foundation. Next they laid what looks like guttering to me in the jack hammered area. Then they covered it with gravel.
Then the next day, they came back and covered all that with concrete and installed a new motor and piping into our sump pump. The concrete is wet in the pictures.
We have not had a drop of water on the basement floor since. The wet smell is gone too - thank goodness! This was well worth the $2800 we spent on it :)
Getting a little more interesting??

Making progress. Lookin' good!
I miss having a basement. We had one when we lived in SD and it was so great. So much extra space. Ping Pong table, pool table, air hockey. My hubby was a youth pastor, so it was awesome to have a place for the students to hang out without totally trashing my upstairs.....
Looking good!!
Not wet smell!! YAY :)
getting there...and woooohhhoooo on the no water and good smells!!
it is looking interesting.
I saw you over at Seven Clown Circus and thought I'd stop by to say hey!
Good luck on the progress of your basement. I love ours. It is totally worth it :).
The things men can do with jackhammers!
Some days I wish I was a tradesman - so incredibly talented, and (presumably) making a fortune.
